Nursing Rooms
Detroit Metropolitan Airport's first Nursing Room is officially open in the North Terminal across from Gate D-15. The room is a private space, where mothers can sit in a comfortable chair and not be disturbed while caring for their child. Equipped with a sink and electrical outlets, the room is designed to be functional. However, with the artwork, overhead lighting and a lamp, the room can feel a little more like home.
To ensure privacy, each mother will need to use her cell phone to call for an access code to enter the room. Once inside, she can lock the door. When the lock is engaged, "Occupied" will appear on the outside of the door.
More nursing rooms will open in the future.
