Detroit Metropolitan Airport concessionaires seek workers during job fair
Restaurants and retail locations hiring for multiple positions
DETROIT (July 29, 2021) – The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA), which operates Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), is hosting a job fair on behalf of its concessionaires. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3 at the Nomads Building – 10100 Middlebelt Rd., Romulus, Michigan 48174. Job seekers utilizing public transportation can access the location by taking Smart Bus Route 125.
Management teams from several concessionaires will be on-site, interviewing candidates for full- and part-time positions in the airport terminals. Opportunities are available at many retail locations including Pandora, Explore Afar, Forbes Travel Store, Spanx, Frivolous, Time News Stand, PGA Tour Shops and several others. Staff from food and beverage locations including Andiamo, Jolly Pumpkin, Embers Fire & Ice Bar, National Coney Island, Starbucks, Subway, Chick-fil-A and more will also be on-site conducting interviews.
“Similar to restaurants and retail stores across the country, our concessionaire partners are actively recruiting to increase their workforce,” said WCAA CEO Chad Newton. “As the demand for air travel continues to rise, there’s no better time to join the DTW team. Working at the airport provides the opportunity to meet people from all over the world while providing quality customer service in an exciting atmosphere.”
Job fair participants must be at least 18 years old and should bring two pieces of identification: a state identification card or driver’s license and their original social security card or birth certificate with seal. Any offers of employment will require successful completion of an airport background check.
“As a long-standing partner of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Paradies Lagardère is excited to support the upcoming DTW job fair,” said Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies. “The airport retail and restaurant market is an incredible industry, and we have excellent employment opportunities, with outstanding career paths, for individuals who seek to thrive in this service and hospitality segment.”
